GOD’S INTENT

Apart from Scripture there are guessed-at relationships between God and his creatures, surmised anticipations of God’s intent, conjectures, and speculations on God’s nature and ways of working. But in the pages of Scripture, we see the acts of salvation, of providence, of blessing.

God’s word brings creation into being, brings people into existence. We see God bridging the abyss of sin and establishing peace. We see God disciplining and nurturing rebellious and recalcitrant people to the end that love can be experienced and developed to maturity. We see God entering our history in the form of a servant so that we can freely participate in the redemption that God is working in us.
