You Are Called, You Are Sent 

As the hands and feet of Jesus, each of us are built, created, and designed to aid in the Kingdom mission. We are called by God daily to love our neighbor and to love God. To be called sometimes refers to a big life shift; a career change, moving your family to another culture, or a long term project. In the past, have you sensed a call being placed on your life? The surge of excitement mixed with fear as you look toward the future? I’ve been home to the sweet swell of confidence flowing through me hearing and knowing God’s voice as he calls me toward something. What a holy privilege it is to be invited into the glorious plan of Love on earth. However, the process of following through is a different experience. To give you an example, think about the last time you moved houses or went on a long trip. The dreaming phase- booking flight tickets, choosing a new apartment or house, purchasing new furniture is all very exciting. But then comes the packing, the long travel days, the new community, the weird sounds and smells of your new home. The beginning of something new and unknown is often uncomfortable and requires faith. Following through on a calling, or being sent, is challenging. It’s a space that God wants to be invited into, to navigate with us. As you reflect on your call and try to fulfill our daily mission to love others, rest in the knowledge that you are not alone in the struggle. In the excitement, anxiety, and discomfort, you are blessed. You are faithful. You are seen.
