Day Two: God and Wonderful Places and Events

‘It only takes a brush with mortality for ourselves or someone we love to be profoundly grateful that we, or they, are still here. Life is precious. Every ordinary life is extraordinary when seen close up and that is truly wonderful.

I often find myself transported into a kind of dream in certain places. I call these thin places, where the gap between heaven and earth seems shallow. Once in an ancient wood, I got the sense that God was all around me. It was very beautiful and I am not alone in these kinds of holy and godly experiences.

Prayer:

Father, we are thankful for holy places and holy events – places where we get a strong feeling that you are close . . . Refresh us dear Lord and open our eyes and ears to your beautiful nature.
