Reset My Focus

Followers of Jesus have a countercultural focus. When tragedy happens in the world, instead of saying, “Why, God?” they say, “How’s my heart, God? Would I be ready to die and see you?”

It’s easy to procrastinate and not focus. It’s easy to say, “I’ll serve God when I’m older or once I do this or once I do that.” But followers of Jesus aren’t sitting around.

Followers of Jesus also aren’t practicing just for show. Jesus’ love fills their hearts, and their actions are an overflow. When asked about who gets to go to heaven, Jesus says, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door.”

See, Jesus isn’t trying to scare us; He’s trying to tell us that our lives here on earth should look different because we know Him. If you’ve been focusing on the wrong things, now is the time to answer the question from the beginning: “Are you ready to stand before God?” If not, ask Jesus to reset your focus, and give up the things that distract you so you can spend time living and loving like Jesus.
