Jesus Reveals Himself to Peter
Despite Peter's failure, Jesus still chose to pursue Peter. Following his resurrection, out of all the disciples, he appeared to Peter first. Understanding his insecurity with his failure, Jesus secretly reached out to Peter. However, Peter did not recognize who he was at first. Jesus gently walked, talked, and ate with Peter. He waited until the right moment before he finally revealed to him who he was.
When we find ourselves far from God, he has a way of gently drawing us back to him. He is loving and kind and won't force himself on us if we are not ready. God is a good Father who is constantly pursuing a relationship with us.
Daily Challenge: How about you? Have you noticed that God is in pursuit of you? In what ways has he been demonstrating his love and kindness to you? If you haven't noticed God at work in your life recently, pray and ask him to open your eyes to see his love at work in your life.
