Reflections for Father's DaySample

Stand Strong
Abraham is known as the Father of many nations. He is a role model of faith and righteousness. He is chosen by God to lead his children and his family.
Many modern-day fathers face challenges on a day-to-day basis. Fathers are called to provide for the family in all ways – financially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. How do fathers stand strong when we are still trying to find our way at the same time?
First, let’s develop meaningful relationships with our families by taking the time to walk daily with God.
Secondly, let’s live in a way that brings a smile to our families.
Thirdly, as men we need to grow closer to God, live with integrity, and build a legacy of faith.
Finally, pray – ceaselessly.
Are you ready to learn from Abraham, when God called him to move his family to an unknown land?
Prayer
Lord, we ask for wisdom and humility in the face of the task of parenting. Give us the strength to do well by our children and by you. In your Holy name, O God, we pray. Amen.

About this Plan

These devotions look at what the Bible says about fathers and families, and the qualities which make a good father; or indeed, what makes a good parent and follower of Jesus. The apostle Paul tells others to follow his example. So, as we approach Father’s Day, let’s reflect on the role of fathers in the lives of their kids, their families, and their friends as we follow Jesus.
