Tru Hip Hop: Round 1

DAY 2 OF 5

Cookbook & Uno Mas

Always Shine

Always shine. Speak life where death is norm. As the choir sings praise to the highest form. Do it all in Christ's name.

The world is shrouded in darkness and discouragement these days. One can barely turn on the news before the barrage of bad news becomes almost too much to bear. This steady diet of discouragement has created a culture where it is hard for people to have any semblance of hope—much less flourish.

Despite the bad news that fills our world, God has good news that He wants everyone to know. It is a light that shines through all the darkness and discouragement of our day. It is a light that defeated both sin and death completely. This light of the good news of Jesus Christ is one that can shine through the darkest of days and circumstances. This light of the gospel is something that changes the life and hope of all who rest in Jesus for their everything.

Yet, this light of the gospel is not something that is meant to only change our life, but it is a light that is abundant for the entire world. This is good news that was never meant to be hoarded—our Savior desires for us to share His light.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. ~ Matthew 5:14-16

The Christian was made to shine in a world that is perpetually dark. The very reason for man to be here on this earth is to shine and display the glory of God in everything we do. If we fail to do that, we are just as useful as a lamp that is placed underneath a basket.

In every corner of your day, are you letting your light shine? Let it shine in how you serve your coworkers. Let it shine in your family when you walk in the door after a long work week. Let it shine in giving a kind word to someone that you have never even met before.

Use what you have for the One who has given you everything. Let Him shine in all you do. Always.
