With God, We Are A Majority

In every battle we face in our walk with God, there are three components: ourselves, the giant we must defeat, and the Lord. It does not matter how tall our giant is, ourselves plus God is a majority. This does not mean that everything in our lives will be easy or great, but we can be certain that, through everything, God will see us through.

Hudson Taylor, a British missionary to China, was once told that he had only twenty-five cents left in the bank account for the China Inland Mission. This is what he replied: “Praise the Lord...Twenty-five cents plus all the promises of God.” Sometimes we may feel like we have nothing to go on; like we have nothing in us to fight against any giants. It is then that we must remember we have God on our side and all of His promises. We must remember to praise God in the midst of our battles, even in the smallest of our battles. We must learn to trust the Lord. He will lead us through our small and large battles. 

We may feel unlikely, small, even defeated. Still, the One who is on our side is greater than any giant we may have to face. He is greater than the giant of anger and sadness over our parents’ divorce. He is greater than the giant of a speech impediment. God will take care of your giant of miscarriage, your giant of addiction, your giant of childhood abuse, of fear, or doubt, or depression, or anxiety. He is greater than any of our tallest giants, and He will take care of them. He will give us the victory. We need to trust in Him, surrender to Him, be prepared, and have faith in Him. 

Spend time with God. Trust in Him. Worship Him. Praise Him always. Go to church and surround yourself with the right people. Seek God every day. Love your family. Always do what is right. Face your giants without fear and let God do His work. The bigger your giants may be, the harder they will fall. God is the One who will bring all of our giants down!
