Thrive: A Journey Through the PsalmsSample
Creative Praise
This Psalm encourages us that everyone has a role to play in praising God. It doesn't matter if we are gifted in singing or playing an instrument. We are each called on to use our breath to praise the Lord. We might wrongly assume that our role in praise and worship is minor if we are not up front leading. Some of us might have quiet personalities, while others are outgoing, but we are each called to play a role in the area of worship.
We are encouraged through this Psalm that there are numerous ways we can praise and worship God. This passage reminds us that we can praise God through singing, dancing, playing an instrument, and music. Have you ever thought of other creative avenues where you can praise God? Do you like to paint? Are you a talented artist or writer? Perhaps it is time you pick up your paintbrush or pen and pour out your praise to God. Are you an influencer on social media? Consider ways to post inspiring images or engaging videos that express your praise and thankfulness to God.
Daily Challenge:
Experiment with your methods of praise. Try writing a poem of gratitude to God, paint a picture expressing your praise, put on some worship music, and dance your heart out! Position your heart and mind in a worshipful attitude, and use your unique talents to express your heart to God.
