DAY 3 OF 3

The Gospel Connections

Gospel Connections

Gospel Connections are the links between a biblical story and the gospel of Jesus. Review the Gospel Connections below and learn how to find Jesus in every story of the Bible.

Gospel Connection 1

1. God brought upon Adam a deep sleep that resembled death (Gen 2:21).

1. God brought upon Jesus the sleep of death on the cross (John 19:30).

Gospel Connection 2

2. God pierced Adam in the side, making a bloody wound (Gen 2:21).

2. God allowed the Roman soldier to pierce Jesus in the side, making a bloody wound (John 19:34).

Gospel Connection 3

3. God healed Adam of his wound and awakened him from his sleep in a garden to receive his bride in all of her beauty and purity (Gen 2:22)!

3. God healed Jesus of his wounds (John 20:27) and awakened him from the sleep of death in a garden (John 19:41) to receive us as his bride one day in all of our newfound beauty and purity (Eph 5:25-27)!

Day 2

About this Plan

Watermark Gospel | Introduction

In Luke 24, Jesus taught his disciples that every story in the Bible points directly to him! We simply need to look for the gospel pattern of "suffering followed by glory." That is, we need to look for something that points to his suffering on the cross, followed by something that points to the glory of Jesus' resurrection! In this plan, learn to find Jesus in every Bible story!
