Moments for Mums: Endure - Part 2Sample
As mums, we face challenges every day. Sometimes life feels exhausting. How do we keep going and not lose heart? There are three tips in Hebrews 1:1–3.
Firstly, sin will trip us up and slow us down. Identify the sin. Seek forgiveness. Then strive to be obedient and servant-hearted.
Secondly, look to Jesus. “Fix” your eyes on him, not just an occasional glance. Stay focused. Notice everything about him. He is the pioneer. That means he’s been there before us. He understands. Jesus makes faith perfect, so he will help us be faithful. If our eyes are fixed on Jesus, we will be less discouraged by what’s happening around us.
Thirdly, focus on joy. Look beyond the current hardship towards future joy. This is what Jesus did. We know it’s helpful to focus on gratitude and earthly joys, but gaining strength from eternal joys is even better.
Question
What concern in your life would be less distracting if your eyes were “fixed” on Jesus?
Prayer
Thank you, Jesus, for being the pioneer and perfecter of my faith. Thank you for going before, so I can follow you.
Scripture
