“Peace on earth” is a phrase found on many Christmas cards. Although for many people, Christmas is anything but peaceful. The rush of Christmas shopping, the stretch of the budget, the expectations, and dealing with impatient or difficult people seem to be more common. What a jolly season indeed!
However, the real meaning of Christmas is found in God, just as real peace is.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). What joy the hope of eternal life brings to those who believe in Jesus! What peace it brings to our hearts during life’s storms to know we are loved and forgiven.

Prayer
God, help us to remember the joy of Christmas and bring joy to the lives of those around us.
