Make the Most of Christmas - by yesHEisSample
Cool story ... you should share it
If you’ve ever struggled to find a way to share your own testimony, Christmas is the perfect time to start! Alongside the gift-giving and celebrating with family and friends, it’s a time where many people are reflecting on the things which are most important in their lives. Make the most of it by using this Christmas season to share your story.
When you share your story, you are in fact sharing the Christmas story – God with us.
The Christmas story is about Jesus coming to the world. He was born in a stable, in an out-of-the-way town, to bring hope to the entire world. It’s proof that God loves the world and that He is with us. When you tell your story, you are sharing how God came into your life and how He loves you and is always with you.
Our personal stories are reflections of the greater story that started with Christmas. When Jesus came into the world he was rejected by the world. But because of His love, He came as a light and anyone who believes in him is given a new life and brought into a relationship with God. This happened to you when you gave your life to Jesus. This is your personal story to share how God is with you.
So share the power of the Christmas story by sharing your own story — here is a simple structure that might help:
1. What your life was like before Jesus.
2. How you met Jesus.
3. What your life is like with Jesus.
Use these three simple points to frame how you share your story. Pray beforehand and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as you share.
At Christmas we celebrate Jesus entering humanity’s story. Take the opportunity this Christmas to share how Jesus has entered YOUR story.
