BACK TO POINT ZERO


"Dad, why isn't the scale at 0?", when I was a child, I often asked my father. At that time, our weighing equipment at home was still in the form of an analogue, which used a spring system. Often because it has not been calibrated, the needle on the scale will shift slightly from 0 so that the weighing device cannot function properly. Periodically, analogue scales need to be recalibrated to insure the needle returns to 0 so that the weighing results are correct.

So it is with our lives. Busyness and hecticness often make us lose direction and purpose in life. Every now and then, just like a weighing scale, we need to “calibrate” our vision of life to make sure we are still in the plan God has in store for us. Turn the hand back to 0, then rearrange life priorities. Make sure the direction we just set, directs us to one goal, namely to serve and glorify Christ.

Are we too busy and starting to lose direction in our life? Let's take a moment to stop and reflect. Write down what you get, reflect on it and use it to guide you in making decisions in the future. Do not forget to continue to enjoy His presence in every season of our lives and continue to renew our commitments as disciples of Christ.

Prayer:

Thank You, Jesus, for your care in our lives. We long to continue to serve You in our lives, and to fulfill the plans You have set for us. Give us the wisdom to set priorities in life and make decisions that are pleasing to You. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
