Bible in a YearSample
You made it through one huge prophetic book... now on to the next, Jeremiah:
-The prophet Jeremiah conducted his ministry in the last days of Judah and into the Jewish exile in Babylon.
-Jeremiah uniquely prophesies that the exile will last for 70 years, a prophecy referred to by Daniel later.
-Jeremiah was highly persecuted in every season of his life, finally being thrown in prison as a traitor to Judah for his gloom-and-doom prophecy before Babylon invaded.
-Even after the Jewish exile, Jeremiah continued to prophecy, convicting Jews who fled to Israel of their idolatry and rebellion. Tradition outside of the Bible suggests he may have been stoned to death in Egypt, by his own people.
