Another crazy book of the Bible is Hosea. Here’s the big idea:
-Hosea was a prophet to the Northern Kingdom (Israel) during the same time Isaiah was a prophet to the Southern Kingdom (Judah).
-God has Hosea deliberately marry an unfaithful woman as an object lesson to him of the relationship between a faithful groom (God) and an unfaithful bride (Israel).
-The book of Hosea is the first book of the 12 minor prophets. The books of the minor prophets are named so not for any lack of significance or authority, but simply due to their contrast in literal length from the books of the major prophets.
