Bible in a YearSample

As you start reading the book of Psalms, it’s important to know that it’s a collection of individual songs, prayers, and poems authored by several different individuals. Most were penned by David, though the historical span of authorship ranges from the Mosaic period to the post-exilic.
-It is the longest book of the Bible, containing almost 44 thousand words.
-Most scholars divide the Psalms into five general categories:
1. Praise
2. Wisdom
3. Royal
4. Thanksgiving
5. Lamentations
