The Word Of God

The Word of God is a solid foundation that we can trust in! It is a common experience to unknowingly put our trust in someone or something that has let us down. It can be tempting to put up walls, lose trust in others, or even in God, as we experience and process disappointment. We can fight this temptation by standing firm in knowing we can trust the Word of God. The Word of God is alive, active and sharper than any double-edged sword. As we read the Bible we are refined in our hearts and minds through the Holy Spirit. In 1 Peter 1:25 the Bible says, “the Word of the Lord remains forever.” Though we may experience disappointment, the Word of God stands outside time and is a source of truth we can stand on. Inspired by God, the Bible can speak to our current situations while giving us context and understanding about the nature and character of God. As we lean into the Word of God today, let us remember that we can trust the promises of God found in the Bible. We entrust the Holy Spirit to guide us as we pursue a deeper knowledge and revelation of how to apply God's Word to our daily situations.

Prayer:

Lord, I thank you for your Word. I thank you for the tangible hope I find in the Word of God that speaks to me and is relevant to my current circumstance. Forgive me for not prioritizing your Word as I should. I thank you for your sharpening, that when I might lose sight of your goodness or promises, I am reminded of who you are by reading your Word. I pray that today I build my trust and confidence in you through standing on your promises. Amen.
