Present and PurposefulSample
Peace. Be Still.
I’m just so busy; I don’t have enough time for God. There’s just too much to do. Life is complicated. There are so many pressures. I must focus on the tasks at hand. I must finish this before the deadline. My life is stress-central!
Do you ever feel controlled by your to-do list? Do you wonder that your diary rules every minute of your working day? If you think about it, we spend so much time organising our time, we don’t leave time for the important things, the relationship things, the real-life things. Our problem is that we busy ourselves being busy.
The solution is easy: say no to everything other than God for a few minutes, regularly, during the day.
Have you ever noticed that Jesus has the power to say: ‘Peace. Be still.’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. That can happen for you right now.
Take a moment in whatever you’re doing to pause, praise the Lord, just say thank you, and pray – it doesn’t need to be for long. Let Him know what’s on your heart. Let Him know what’s happening in your life, right now, this moment.
Be still and know that I am God. But He can only be God if you get out of the way and let Him! Take regular moments between tasks to give thanks to Him. He wants to spend time with you, free up your time to spend with Him. It’s worth it. It really is.
Remember: Pause. Praise. Pray. And in all things give Him your thanks.

About this Plan
With all the noise, it can be easy not to be fully present in the moments of our life. These devotionals are designed to develop the practice of being present in your day-to-day life and with God. Inviting Him to be present with you in all seasons, circumstances, and situations. His presence can make an insignificant moment become full of purpose and opportunity.
