Navigating the Storms of LifeSample
Just because you’re in a storm, don’t assume that God is angry with you or has abandoned you. In fact, your storm may come precisely because you are seeking to obey God. This world is full of people who get upset when Christians are faithful and obedient to God, and they will continue to make trouble for God’s people. What I’m saying is that your conscience can be clear before God, and yet you can be smack-dab in the middle of a raging storm.
Of course, there are those storms that come when we are out of God’s will and running from what He wants us to do. The rebellious prophet Jonah comes to mind. He didn’t want to go to Nineveh and warn the people to repent. Jonah didn’t like that idea because the people of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria, were Israel’s enemies. So Jonah ran the other way, but God tracked him down with a literal storm much like the one the disciples faced on the Sea of Galilee.
The storms will come no matter what—but I’d much rather be in a storm within God’s will than outside of it!
Is there any area of your life where you are running from God’s plan?
