What Does the Bible Say About Prejudice? Sample
Day 7- Future hope
Now that we’ve learned from the Bible how to overcome the temptation of prejudice, we will still probably experience prejudice from others. We will still sometimes fall into the trap of prejudice ourselves.
Yet even in that hurt, we can hope. Even though our lives are lived out as an imperfect reflection of Jesus, at the end of days we will become fully like Christ, renewed and transformed into his perfect image.
And who will make up the bride of Christ?
The whole church from all eternity will be present, singing God’s praises.
“Behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’” (Revelation 7:9–10).
Christ’s perfect loveliness will be what holds our attention. Our differences will pale in comparison as we fix our gaze on Jesus.
Does that mean our differences will cease? Not at all; unity does not become uniformity. We will praise in a beautiful chorus of language as all nations (ethnicities) will lift their voices as one to praise the Lord. Our pride will dissipate, our fear will ease away, and our prejudice will disappear as the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sins.
Forgiveness will flow freely, for Christ has forgiven all.
In the New Jerusalem, we will, as one, be married to Christ.
Reflect
What does this hope mean for today? How can we apply this knowledge of hope to our lives now?
Worship God for his goodness and know that people all over the world are at that moment worshiping him alongside you.
Remember that God is the God who breaks down all barriers through his salvation, the one who's love reigns forever.
