Walk Through The Bible 365 - SeptemberSample
Neither Hot Nor Cold
In Revelation 3, the church in Laodicea is rebuked for being neither ‘hot nor cold.’ Because they are lukewarm in their love and zeal, Jesus warns them that He will spit them out of His mouth! And the sad thing is that they seem to be doing well externally and this blinds them to their real condition.
What about you? Are you lukewarm in your heart towards God and His purposes? Perhaps externally you still are serving and functioning as a Christian, and this has blinded you to your real condition? It is time to turn your heart fully to Christ.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, we want to turn aside from the sin of being lukewarm. We want to be full of zeal and love for you. Please show us in what ways we need to change in our love and devotion to you, in our prayer life, in our love for your word, in our service to you and your church and in our relationship with others. Let us be full of your Spirit as we live in close relationship with you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
