Find Rest In Me

Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30

Jesus, You say, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” I hear You saying come just as you are, weary and with your heavy burdens. Father, You love me as I am, knowing my sin and shame, gives me dignity and makes a way to receive and know Your love for me. I experience Your complete and pure and holy love and know it to be entirely independent of how I behave or feel or am. It wraps itself around me and flows into every hurting and empty space. You gently reach into the depths of my heart and soul, and You restore me, and I feel truly loved. I know I am loved as I receive Your love for me and into me. I am home in my Father’s embrace; safe, changed, made new, and loved by You. You give me rest.

Jesus, as I come to You and receive Your rest, I find You have untethered me from my burdens. I leave them behind and turn and run into Your welcoming arms. I sob out my sins in repentance to You, and I feel Your calvary love and forgiveness flowing out to me. I find rest from the guilt and weight of my sin and am free by Your grace. In Your arms, Father, I am healed, revived, restored, and made righteous by Jesus’ precious blood. It is finished; I’ve been set free, and I am loved.

I know You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I surrender my life to You and commit to yield to You and Your ways. I take Your yoke upon me. As I walk with You, I find You are in me, and I am in You. You fill me with the Holy Spirit, and I am never alone. Your Spirit guides me into all Truth and empowers me for Your service. This Truth sets me free and shows me where to go and what to do. I learn to be gentle and kind, and You teach me to love as You do. I find my purpose in You, and as I serve and live for You, I find the life I was always searching and striving for. You said, “I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance,” and I live that life in and through You. As I take Your yoke upon me, I find rest in You.
