Daily Bible Reading – April 2022: God’s Renewing Word of Hope

DAY 23 OF 30

April 23

Introduction

In today’s reading, the apostle Paul presents his argument that all who believe can be put right with God through faith. According to Paul, faith comes from hearing the message about Christ.

Scripture Reading

Romans 10:1-21

Today’s Key Verse: Romans 10:9

[The apostle Paul writes:] If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved.

Reflect

What is Paul’s prayer for his people (verse 1)? What does he say about them in verses 2 and 3? In today’s reading, Paul speaks of being put right with God (verses 4, 6, 10).In verse 6, Paul is saying that those who have faith in Christ realize that being acceptable to God is something that God gives to people, not something people can achieve on their own. What are your thoughts about this? Reread verses 14 and 15. Do these verses pose a challenge to Christians today to spread the message of God’s love and salvation?

Pray

Sovereign God, I confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that You raised him from death. I have heard your message of faith and I know that your message is near me, on my lips, and in my heart. Empower me with your Holy Spirit to proclaim your message of salvation to those who have not yet heard of your love and grace. Amen.

Tomorrow’s Reading

Romans 11:1-24: The apostle Paul discusses God’s mercy on Israel and salvation of the Gentiles.
