Key People: Key People From The BibleSample

Abraham
Nations had not come into existence in this area yet. Kings ruled over individual cities and the farmland surrounding those cities. Several of these kings go to war against each other, and Lot gets caught up in the middle of it. Abram’s household, with God’s help, is powerful enough to rescue Lot and the defeated kings. Abram worshipped God by giving to God through a priest named Melchizedek and refusing to be made rich by kings who worshipped other gods.
When we win a victory, it is sometimes hard to remember God. We want to take the credit for ourselves and receive the praise of others. We should follow Abram’s example and remember to worship God in our victories.
