Repurposed Faith Quiet Time Challenge

DAY 10 OF 10

"RECLINE AT HIS TABLE"

“I used to love having my quiet time, but lately, I have gotten away from it,” my friend said. “Why?” I asked. “I have done things I regret and am ashamed of, and I feel that God may be unhappy with me,” was her response. Sound familiar?

I encouraged her to return to God “who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with loving, kindness and compassion” (Psalm 103:4 NASB). Think about it: when we mess up and humbly repent (turn around), He gives us a crown and compassion even though we don’t deserve it.

That’s what the Bible calls “good news!” Some of us, when we first came to Christ, responded to a song titled Just As I Am. Yet when we sin as believers, our tendency is to hang our heads and withdraw from our loving Savior. Remember that when we confess our sins, He forgives and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

Today’s challenge:
• As you enter into the presence of the Lord, jot down anything you need to confess to Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of anything that may be blocking your fellowship with Him.
• As you finish day 10, follow Jesus’ challenge in Matthew 9:13 to go and learn more about compassion and sacrifice and who He came to call.
• Meditate on these questions:
o What was Jesus’ posture when He was reclining at the table (in today’s verses)?
o Who did Jesus prefer to dine with?
o In Psalm 23, it speaks of God preparing a table before us in the presence of our enemies. What do you think was on this table?
Day 9

About this Plan

Repurposed Faith Quiet Time Challenge

When something needs to be repurposed, maybe it has lost its value or become worn and broken. People can feel that way when it comes to faith. The Repurposed Faith challenge will refresh and redirect your priorities to Christ and His Word. Short devotions will help identify the “roadblocks” that may have derailed your quiet time and you will be motivated to reconnect with God in a meaningful, intimate way.
