Fresh Start After FailureSample
Feeling Weak?
Most of us see weakness as something to avoid instead of something to embrace. We work hard to overcome our weaknesses and develop our strengths. Most people shy away from their weaknesses and try their best to hide them.
However, God is in the business of using people's weaknesses as a way to display His strength and power. It is when we are weakest that God's power is shown, and we are able to grasp a beautiful picture of His grace. If God chose to use our strengths to show His power, it could confuse things. We would start to think God uses us solely because of our strengths, and we could start to feel like we don't need God. We would naturally develop a sense of pride that would keep us from understanding God's grace. Why would we need grace when we are such a great person?
The truth, though, is that God wants us to trust in His grace and realize our identity is found in Him. When God uses our weaknesses, we have no choice but to look to Him and give Him the credit for our successes. God can do more with our weaknesses than we can do with our strengths. That is why the apostle, Paul, says in 2 Corinthians 12:10, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Are you ready to trust God with both your strengths and your weaknesses? Commit those things to Him, and watch what He does in your life!
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
