Through the Bible: Luke

DAY 4 OF 11

Just Say the Word

…But say the word, and my servant will be healed…When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.
Luke 7:7,9 (NIV)

We see different characters displaying faith in these chapters. Most notably is the centurion, who recognises the power of Jesus. Jesus is neither near the house nor has seen the servant. He says the word, and the servant is healed. This is a great display of Jesus’ power and authority.

What sets the centurion apart is his conviction, and even Jesus was amazed at his tremendous faith.

Friends, is Jesus amazed by your faith? Is your posture of submission to Him genuine?

Just as the centurion understood Jesus’ authority, we should fully submit and rely on Him to overcome all our challenges. We always need to read and meditate on God’s word, pray and submit to His sovereignty.

No matter where we are in this life journey, Jesus is ready, willing, and able to meet our needs. With one word from Jesus, everything changes.

Prayer

Abba Father, we seek Your will with hearts of reverence. We ask the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth and that our lives align with Your will. It is Your will that we have physical, mental, and spiritual healing. May You remove all obstacles that block us from receiving from You. We ask all these in Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Luke

As the longest book in the New Testament, Luke makes the purpose of his writing clear at the beginning: to investigate and write an account of the Gospel. As a Gentile physician, Luke has deliberately recorded many healing miracles of Jesus and His care for the social outcasts. The Gospel is summarised in this proclamation of Jesus, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
