Esther, Born for Such a Time as ThisSample

Esther, Born for Such a Time as This

DAY 21 OF 28

Haman was exposed and killed. Mordecai and Esther were safe, but the Jews were not because the decree that went out to destroy the Jews could not be reversed. Again Esther went to the king to plead before him. How would he respond? To approach him again was as risky as the first time! Only when he would extend his scepter to her she would she be allowed to come near. If he would not extend his scepter, that meant a certain death for Esther.

She knelt before him in tears and begged him to help save her people. Again, we see God’s hand here. The king turned towards her and extended the scepter to her. Moreover, he gave his signet ring—which meant his royal authority—to Mordecai and told him to write another letter to all 127 regions of his kingdom and to do what was necessary to prevent the genocide of the Jews.

What an awesome proof of God’s goodness and mercy!

We who live today can fully trust Him, too.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for the example of Esther. Thank You that You are still the same. I love You Lord; no one is like You!

About this Plan

Esther, Born for Such a Time as This

In this plan, we will take you through the book of Esther. We can admire Esther's courage, but we should see the whole picture: Esther, too, needed to be reminded of Who rules and that her life is in His hand. We pray that Esther's story inspires you to see God's hand in your life. God has intentionally placed you where you are for such a time as this.
