30DaysOfBibleLettering - Round 3

DAY 4 OF 30

“Sin is forgiven”

Have you ever played darts?

You tried to hit the bull's-eye, but your arrow only hit the double ring, or did not even hit the dartboard. Sin is exactly this: you fail to hit the mark. You can try and train as much as you want, but you will never be able to hit the bull's-eye.

At some point you will be out of the game completely--game over. That is where Jesus jumps in. God knew that we wouldn’t be able to hit the bull's-eye on his dartboard. Jesus is the arrow that hit the bull's-eye since we cannot do it on our own.

He has already won the game and he invites us on his team. All we have to do is admit that we have missed the mark and that we need him to be our Savior. In Ephesians 2:8 we read that by God's grace and our faith we are saved. Letting us be a part of the winning team is real grace.

It was his blessing for us. What would you do for the captain of a winning team? You would thank him, tell everyone how generous he is, and try not to disappoint him. His blessing would change your life and the way you live it. That’s how it is with God. God’s grace will change your life. And if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive.
