Daily Bible Reading – May 2022 God’s Renewing Word of PromiseSample
May 2
Introduction
Today’s reading is the conclusion of the psalm, and David praises God’s faithfulness. In these verses, he acknowledges the many ways God has defended, protected, and saved him.
Scripture Reading
Psalm 18:25-50
Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 18:31
The LORD alone is God; God alone is our defense.
Reflect
Verses 25-27 read like a proverb and utilize a structure known as parallelism. In what ways does the second half of each verse amplify the first half? In verse 28, the word “light” represents wisdom and truth that come from God. How does this verse set the tone for the remainder of the psalm? In these concluding verses, what does David say are some of the ways that God has protected and saved him?
Pray
Sovereign God, I thank and praise you for your faithfulness. You alone are God, and you make me strong and make my pathway safe. I thank and praise you for your constant love. Amen.
