Bottom Line: God gives us boldness.
Ruth 3 has some unknowns in it, and that’s okay! Ruth is a story of hope, and often the hope of God comes when we are in the midst of unknowns. What’s important to keep in mind in this chapter is that Ruth was bold in asking for help, realizing that she needed Boaz to take care of her in this life.
Ruth 3 echoes many truths of the Gospel. Ruth is facing a problem that in that society was largely outside of her control to fix. She needs Boaz as her guardian-redeemer to come and redeem her. Just like Ruth, we are all facing a problem, but our problem is sin. That sin is separating us from our good God. But just as Ruth was redeemed by Boaz, we are redeemed by Jesus who brought us eternal redemption and hope through His life and death. In response to His sacrifice, we are called to surrender our lives to bring God glory.
When we live with this hope, knowing that Jesus paid the price for our sins and conquered death, we are able to live with a boldness that will draw more people into a relationship with Jesus. We will see this develop tomorrow as the redemption and boldness of Ruth leads to the redemption of Naomi as well.
