Can You See It? - Proverbs 29
I love to talk about vision. It is one of the most powerful spiritual catalysts in our lives. Sometimes we can be intimidated by the idea of vision, thinking it means we must have a detailed, long-term plan! Vision is simply a picture of a preferable future. Stop and think about any area of your life and consider God’s plan for that area and what you would like to happen. As you think about it, you can start dreaming about it – that’s vision. The Bible says to write down the vision because you can gain the clarity to start running after it (Habakkuk 2:2-3).
Proverbs 29:18 is one of the greatest verses in the Bible about vision, and it helps us see that when we don’t have a vision, we tend to live undisciplined lives. There is a restraining power to vision – it helps us say no to things that could keep us from God’s great plan for our lives. Find that God-given vision and keep reaching for it!
“Father, thank you for your vision. Open my mind and heart to the great plan you have for me – in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
