Arms of Jesus: A 3-Day Devotional With Cade ThompsonSample
LET THE HEALER DO WHAT ONLY HE CAN
In my song “Arms of Jesus,” I wrote some of my favorite lines that I have ever written in a song. They say this…
“Let the healer do what only he can
Let the fear you hold fall out of your hands”
There is something so powerful about surrender. When we choose to surrender our lives to the Lord we can find out what healing looks like. Surrender takes our focus off of the desired healing and puts it back onto the healer. You see, you and I were created to walk in a relationship with JESUS; therefore, there are certain longings and desires that ONLY Jesus can fill.
Jesus is the healer, and He loves to heal. Time and time again, we see stories of Jesus healing people in Scripture. From a blind man to a beggar, this is the character of who Jesus is. And the same power that was working in those stories over 2,000 years ago is still working today.
So the question is, do you believe it? Do you believe that in the presence of God, you can find true freedom and healing once again? If so, it is time to pick up your mat and walk. In John, chapter 5, Jesus meets an invalid man at the pool of Bethesda, and the blind man says, “ “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am on my way, someone else goes in before me.” Then Jesus told him, “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.” Immediately the man was well, and he picked up his mat and began to walk.”
I love this story because healing often looks different than what we thought it would look like. God does not lie. We can trust him. He wants your full attention and your whole heart.
So surrender now, and let the fear you hold fall out of your hands as you choose to fall into His arms today.
REFLECTION
- Take time to think about how God has moved in your life in the past three days.
- How do you want to see God continue to move in your life?
- What step can you take today to trust and fully surrender to Jesus?
PRAYER
“Dear God. Thank you for being the healer. Thank you for never breaking your promises. I am sorry for any way that I have hurt your heart by not giving you my full attention. I ask that you would touch my heart in a fresh way and pour your spirit out as I choose to trust you like never before. Jesus, I love you. Amen.”

About this Plan
All of us go through struggles, trials, and pain in this life. What matters is what you fall into when you encounter those moments. Will you fall into the ways of the world or fall into the arms of Jesus? In this plan, you will be challenged to truly trust Jesus with whatever you are walking through and fall into His arms once again.
