Gifted to ServeSample

Paul’s life was difficult, and his ministry did not always appear successful. In today’s passage, we are introduced to the men who were critical of Paul’s ministry. The great philosophers and teachers were the cultural influencers of the day. Corinth was embedded in the Greek culture that respected and lauded a great orator, and if the people respected the man’s speaking ability, they also respected his message. Paul addressed the problems these men were causing to both his ministry and the church's mission.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).
About this Plan

Let’s explore how we can influence the culture with the truth of God’s word through 1 and 2 Corinthians! These two letters are a powerful message from the Apostle Paul to a church that was passionate about its mission but needed direction to remain true to its Christian faith and doctrines. Those priorities make his letters important teaching for every Christian.
