Have you ever walked down the hall in school, passed by someone, and seen the sadness in their eyes? You can't help but want to be there for them — whether it's reaching out or writing a note. You might even get curious about what they may be processing. Why could they be sad? Is there anything that I can do? These are all questions that might come up as you walk past them and see them out of the corner of your eye.

We often share space with people that are experiencing a lot of pain. Some of these people are in our schools, neighborhood, and even our own home. It is often easier to just keep walking rather than stop and ask, "How can I love this person?" When we look at the life of Jesus, we see that he often stopped for those who were hurting in his community and responded from a place of compassion. Jesus didn't allow inconvenience to keep him from loving others who were experiencing pain.

Keep your eyes out for one person who could be hurting, and try to be compassionate today.
