Real Hope: Meeting With GodSample

Draw Near, Seek Me, Call Me
These scriptures all indicate God’s willingness and desire to meet with us. Can you imagine that! God, the creator of the universe is inviting us to engage with Him.
He says, ‘draw near’, ‘seek me’ and ‘call me’. This indicates that meeting with God is possible and achievable as He actively is seeking a relationship with us. That is, it’s a two-way relationship and yet, it seems as if we have to initiate the connection. When it says, ‘Draw near to me and I will draw near to you’, there’s a hidden assumption that God is waiting for us to make a move because He’s already anticipating that we will come.
In my immaturity I had an idea that it was all up to me to make this meeting happen and I was tempted to think, ‘Why doesn’t God just come to me?’ Then I had a revelation of Jesus Christ ‘the man from heaven’ (1 Corinthians 15:49) coming all the way to earth and then saying to me, ‘Come to me’. Obviously, He has done the heavy lifting in the relationship.
Can I assure, or reassure, you that God will meet you as He promises – ‘You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart’ (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV). The how, when and where issues will be made known to you after your heart engages with Him.

About this Plan

God desires to be with His people. We read it time and time again in the Bible. However, the question that always remains is, are we desiring to be with God in the same way He desires to be with us? In this plan we seek to understand the heart of what our amazing God has for us.
