Rerouting

DAY 14 OF 25

Strength comes in all shapes and sizes. It’s not all about how much weight you can lift or how mentally tough you think you are. Each person has their definition of what it means to be strong. For a mother, being strong may be holding out against the desperate pleas for a new toy from her child. For someone learning a new trade, it can be holding out and continuing to try when the odds are stacked against him. We place a value on being strong—on being able to take care of a person or situation ourselves without the help of others. But being strong can be exhausting. Having to maintain an image of strength at all times can drain us and keep us from being truly honest with ourselves or even with God. Yet God does not ask us to be strong, at least not in the sense that we think about. God reminds us that when we are weak, we are strong. Pretty confusing, right? When we focus on our strength, we tend to push everything else aside, including our relationship with God. But God wants us to be humble enough to use His strength. We recognize that without Him, we are weak, but with Him, we have a never-ending source of strength that will get us through even the darkest times. What can you surrender to God in order to gain His strength?

About this Plan

Rerouting

No matter the destination you’re trying to reach, the journey to get there comes with twists and turns instead of a straight path. We often have to reroute. In this devotional we’ll dive into what it looks like to reroute and find a new map along the journey. We’ll see many examples of God working to fulfill the plans He created for us.
