Stewarding Your ThoughtsSample
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14
As we kick off this journey together, stewarding our thoughts for the kingdom. I really want us to grasp this truth and then let it lead you into a posture of praise.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Right now. As you are. You don’t need to change anything about your body to be the spirit filled masterpiece that God designed you to be.
I know that some of us may not be in place of stewarding ourselves well. And yes, we need to make course corrections. The incredible plans God has for you, His love for you, His heart for you, is here. Now.
We do not need to take on this journey to steward our thoughts to earn God’s love. We need to take it on in obedience to take care of his creation. So that we can run the race He’s laid out for us.
Acknowledging how beautifully God designed us should send us into a posture of praise! Praising God for how he has intricately made our bodies to run. Praise him for how intuitive he made them. What an incredible Creator! We should praise him for the resource of our health, even as we strive to steward it better, so we can step into our calling. Our first calling is always in our households.
David wrote this Psalm as an adulterer, as a murderer, and also as a man after God’s own heart. David recognized where he was falling short and always sought out God to forgive his failings and correct his steps.
Yet, despite his past, despite his sins, he praised God for being fearfully and wonderfully made. It’s a place in our hearts we need to get to as well.
Reflection:
- Do you talk down to yourself, or do you actively thank God for being fearfully and wonderfully made?
- How can you give praise to God this week for being his beautiful creation?

About this Plan
One of the biggest battles we face is in our minds. Our thoughts drive our feelings, which often dictate our behaviours and shape our lives. In this 5-day study, we will look at 5 different Scriptures and apply them to become better stewards of our thoughts and, in turn, walk more in God's will for our lives.
