Hunger makes us appreciate something we can take for granted. Food satisfies our hunger, helps us grow, and sustains us. God’s Word is food that will satisfy us deep within, help us grow as people, and sustain us throughout our life.

At home, when someone calls “Dinner Time,” you position yourself at the table to be fed. If you’re not in that position, you don’t get food! (Especially if you’re from a big family with many brothers and sisters!) If you’re not positioned in the Word, you’re not getting fed.

The Bible has been the biggest-selling, most influential book in all of history. More books have been written about the Bible than any other subject.

Knowing what the Bible says doesn’t automatically make you wise. It doesn’t even mean you are a follower of Jesus. Knowing something doesn’t always equal understanding, and there’s a big difference between knowing the right thing and doing the right thing. We draw near to God when we position ourselves in His Word and are obedient to what it says. We can draw near to God through His Word.
