Women of the BibleSample

Hannah
So many of us can identify with Hannah. While being completely loved and adored by her husband, she struggled with infertility. This caused great grief and sorrow in her life. She cried out to the Lord for a child. She even vowed to the LORD that if He granted her a male child, she would give her child to Him, to serve all the days of his life.
Hannah trusted the Lord not only to hear her cries, but she also had faith that the Lord would answer her. She took all the pain and fear she was experiencing and gave it over to the Lord. God heard Hannah's pleas, and 1 Samuel 1:19 says, "and the LORD remembered her."
God does not always respond by giving us the desires of our hearts, but He does hear our cries. He knows and understands the longing to have a child, and He wants to walk with us through our trials. The Lord wants to draw you near Him and heal your broken heart.
1. Are you suffering today with a heart desire that has not been fulfilled?
2. Are you asking the Lord to heal your broken heart?
Prayer: Lord, you know the condition of my broken heart. I ask you today to heal and restore me.

About this Plan

Eve and Mary may be the most well-known in Scripture, but the Bible is chock-full of women with rich character, bold faith, and powerful testimonies. Join us as we briefly study 30 “Women of the Bible” and learn about the ways God used them, sustained them, emboldened them, and provided for them. Women have been a part of God’s plan from the Garden of Eden until the present day. We pray your faith is encouraged and strengthened by spending some time getting to know these women’s accounts.
