Tied On – The Cowboy’s Devotional

DAY 3 OF 10

GIVING CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE

I’ve got some pretty safe, dependable, bombproof horses. How did I get them that way? I used methods that I learned from some of the best horse trainers in the world. From desensitizing, to learning that miles and wet saddle blankets are the key to training a safe horse, I learned it all from them. When people ask me how I got that done with my horse, I try to always give credit to those who taught me. I wouldn’t be worth my weight as a colt starter if I didn’t have these guys teaching me these methods.

As believers, acknowledging Him (Christ) in all we do is one of the greatest acts of obedience that we can do!

What does this look like? It means that we give Him credit for every area of our lives! From our job, to our truck, horses, homes, and kids, we are to give Him all the credit for these things (and give Him control of them as well).

People will ask, “How did you get so lucky?” Our reply should be, “It’s not luck, it’s all because of the grace of God. Everything I have is because of Him.”

The truth is, as Christians, we should not be ashamed of the God who gives us life, joy, peace, and love! We should willingly share why we are so blessed with anyone, anywhere. Is this always easy? No, but it is always right! We must trust in the Lord with all our heart, lean not on our own understanding, and in all our ways acknowledge Him.

CHEW ON THIS
When was the last time you gave credit to God in public? Do you realize all you have is because of the grace of God? How can you acknowledge Him at work and at home?

PRAYER
Lord, forgive me where I have not acknowledged you for all you’ve done in my life. Help me open my mouth and give you all the glory for what you’ve done for me so that others can be drawn to you. It’s in your holy name I pray, Amen.
