The Things We Do in the DarkSample

Repentance is like a spiritual U-turn: We stop running away from God, we turn from our sin, and we begin to run toward God. But to stick with the driving metaphor, the road won’t always be smooth. We’ll hit bumps along the way; we’ll face temptations, old habits, and wounds from our past. But we’ll never be on that road alone. God gives us the Holy Spirit who, over time, begins to change our desires and transform us into people who reflect God’s love and character to the world.
Read: Galatians 5:16-25
Reflection Questions:
- Can you relate to the inner struggle described in verse 17? How does this passage as a whole give you hope?
- Another word for “fruit” is evidence. Read over the evidence for the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life. Which fruits would you like the Holy Spirit to cultivate more of in your life?

About this Plan

“Sin” is the language the Christian faith gives us to make sense of the brokenness and evil we find in the world and in ourselves. Sin blinds us to the truth about God and ourselves and keeps us from living up to the fullness of who God made us to be. This Bible Plan is part 3 of 8 designed to go along with Feed’s “Foundations” small group series.
