Freed to FollowSample

When we think about our salvation, we might be filled with gratitude for the ways God has saved us and changed us. We might express a desire for God to transform us even more. Or we might be filled with a sense of longing for eternity and a desire to see God face-to-face. You’ll see all of those emotions in the psalm you’re about to read. As you read, personalize the verses as a prayer to God. Fill in your own experiences of God’s mercy. Use the words to thank God for the hope of salvation.
Read: Psalm 40
Reflection Questions:
- Can you think of a time you waited on God and he rescued you from a particular struggle or circumstance? Reflect on the ways he forgave your sin or healed a situation. Thank him for his wonderful deeds.
- The psalmist talks about sharing God’s goodness with others. Is there anyone you know who needs to hear about the work God is doing in your life? Ask God to give you an opportunity to tell of his faithfulness and saving power.

About this Plan

Being reunited with God in the resurrection life is the end result of our salvation, but salvation is so much more than a future destination. It’s an ongoing process of transformation that we get to experience daily as we follow Jesus. This Bible Plan is part 5 of 8 designed to go along with Feed’s “Foundations” small group series.
