Our HelperSample
One of the foundations of Christian belief is the Trinity: that God exists in the three persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You might feel like you have a good grasp on who the Father and Son are, but when it comes to the Holy Spirit, things might get a little fuzzy.
As we read yesterday, the Bible shows us the Holy Spirit isn’t a feel-good force or a vibe: The Holy Spirit is a Person. And when we follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to live with us, empowering us for a new way of life.
As you read today’s passage, think about the role the Holy Spirit takes in the lives of believers. You’ll see how the Holy Spirit transforms the way we think, guides us into truth, and sets us free from death. So ask yourself: Am I experiencing those things in my own life? And how would my life change if I let the Holy Spirit change me?
Read: Romans 8:1-17
Reflection Questions:
- What are some ways that the Holy Spirit transforms the life of a believer?
Are you facing a chronic struggle or temptation? How have these verses about the Holy Spirit given you hope that you don’t have to try and change all on your own? Trust that the same life-giving Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead has put sin’s power to death in your life! Spend some time in prayer seeking the Holy Spirit’s help.
