Bro Code Devotional: Part 2 of 3Sample
Dear Father,
I pray for brothers who have hurt someone they loved and are now struggling with not asking for forgiveness. I also pray that they gain a clear understanding of what forgiveness means. Too often people refuse to forgive others.
God, You are very clear that if we do not forgive others, You will not forgive us. I pray that our brothers humble themselves before those they have wronged by asking them to forgive them. Please show our brothers that being forgiven also does not mean the hurtful action has been forgotten.
Many times brothers ask for prayer that their spouse returns and that they have changed. Too often these brothers expect their wives to forgive and forget what they did to hurt them. While they may forgive, it may require time and patience for the trust to return. This, my Lord, is where many brothers get impatient and turn against their wives because she may still be struggling with the offense that first hurt them.
Father, I pray that our brothers learn to say, "I'm sorry," and "Please forgive me." When they cause pain through their actions. I pray that they truly repent and see the wrong that they do and the damage that they cause.
I pray that You soften the hardness of their hearts, and allow them to know what being forgiven really feels like. It was You that forgave us of our sins, and You that allowed Your Son to die because of our sins. We praise You for the gift of grace and salvation.
Amen
