[Uniqueness of Christ] Jesus' Unique Role

DAY 3 OF 3

Three facts of Jesus’ role

One Man changed the world. One Man divided history. One Man has opened the way to a new beginning for all who come to Him. That One Man is Jesus, the Messiah, the only begotten Son of God, the Chosen One.

The announcement of His coming declared that He would be unique and change history. Those who knew Him and accompanied Him in life gave testimony that He was the Son of God, the awaited Christ. Those who believed His words were transformed and led their lives with a change of heart.

In the Bible, we find many stories of Jesus' life-changing ministry—He healed the sick, raised the dead, cured the paralyzed, and gave sight to the blind. Humanity was never the same again when Jesus came.

The Scriptures make these facts clear—firstly, those who recognized Jesus as the Messiah also saw Him worthy to receive worship and honor. They not only believed in Him but praised Him and exalted Him for Who He is.

Secondly, we see in the Word that those who received Jesus prayed in His name, according to His teaching. Even the Name of Jesus is unique; that's why our prayers should be centered on Him and the Father's will. He teaches us that whatever we ask the Father in His name will be done.

The third fact is that Jesus performed other signs in the presence of His disciples, though many were not written down. Nevertheless, the apostle John said, "These have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have eternal life in his name" (John 20:31).

These three facts are still valid for us and everyone who believes in Jesus Christ today. We also encounter the uniqueness of Christ when we believe Him, praise Him, pray in His name, and obey His teachings.

When we walk in His truth, we will see His wonders, miracles, and signs just as the disciples did, the first miracle being our salvation. As we follow His teachings, we will be transformed into His image a little more each day.

A life in Christ leads us to walk in a unique role ourselves, for Jesus desires that we do greater things than He did and proclaim His salvation to every creature on Earth.

Thank you, God, for Jesus, the Messiah, the only one who can transform our lives. Help us to stay close to Him every day, keeping Him at the center of our lives and obeying his teaching.

Day 2

About this Plan

[Uniqueness of Christ] Jesus' Unique Role

In this part of the "Uniqueness of Christ" series, pastor Mark Rae guides us to meditate on Jesus' unique role as Messiah or Anointed One. Multiple passages in the Bible tell us what Jesus and others said about His role and how people reacted to it. How might we best respond to Jesus' unique role?
