When we come to know Jesus, we often realize that we have ‘wasted our time’ pleasing our flesh and disregarding God. It is now time to live the reformed life – a life that pleases God, a life that empties us of ourselves. Of course, it’s not always easy. It will cost us a lot; our pride, our ego, the pleasures of sin, ridicule and persecution. Yes, there will be testing times – but be encouraged. It is only by going through the test that we will have the victory and the joy of knowing Christ more and the power of His resurrection and being in constant fellowship with Him. It is a price worth paying.
James 1:2-4 assures us of this: Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
As you live the Christian life, be assured that you have new life through the Spirit. That new life is first for the now, then for the tomorrow and then for the day after. Let’s not delay. Let’s experience the new life now by strengthening ourselves with the same thinking that Christ had.

Prayer
Father, You know us - our strengths, weaknesses, our everything. We pray that You remind us to strengthen ourselves with the same kind of thinking that Jesus had. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
