The Gift That's Freely GivenSample

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). Among the many gifts Jesus provided to us through His birth and time on earth, one of the greatest and most miraculous of all is in His name, Immanuel. He is God with us. This was just one of His many names proclaimed before His birth.
Isaiah 9 says He would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Jesus is the embodiment of God and in Him is everything we need. His gift to us is His very presence among us always. He is whatever we need at any moment. We lack nothing with Him. He is our Wonderful Counselor in times of need, our Mighty God when we need strength and salvation, our Everlasting Father whose love never fails, and our Prince of Peace when our soul is in turmoil.
Let peace fill your heart today, knowing that God dwells among us. The Father has provided for all you need through His Son's free gift. As you meditate on God's names, which one in these verses resonates with you the most now and why? He is with you now, ready to reveal to you that His names are true of His nature.

About this Plan

The celebration of Jesus' birth during Christmas time is about much more than a single event. Long before the Son of God took His first breath here on earth, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit determined a plan that would provide the greatest gift to all humanity: Jesus, the perfect sacrificial Lamb of God. Join us in this 5-day devotional as we celebrate the Gift That’s Freely Given.
