Proverbs & PuritySample

THE HEART
God is more concerned about your heart than your behavior. Many times, we can focus on getting past a certain sin pattern, but not deal with the real issue of the heart.
Proverbs 4:23 tells us, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
What you do is a result of what it is in your heart. If you have God's desires in your heart, your behavior will follow that. If you have sinful motives in your heart, your behavior will follow that.
Ultimately, this is what God asks of us: "My son, give me your heart..." (Proverbs 23:26a)
Ask yourself today, "What's in my heart?" Do you desire the things of God in your heart?
